Thank you for bringing this to the atttention of the forums members.

It is hoped that the proper authorities will take this matter in hand, as from what can be read from provided news reports and witnesses remarks at the dig there seems to be no official involvement by British Government, British Military or RAF, RAAF or RCAF Officials ?

Further, as to the personal effects that can be ID'd - Have they been returned to the respective families. If not why not as relatives seem to have been easily found by the media ?

Personaly I find it unbelievable that Bloodstained map, gloves, an enscribed ring, cigarette case, part of a Jumper with a medal ( or was it medal ribbon I forget ?) attached are found but no human remains at all ?

We are to led to believe that the search for human remains was the main reason for the search ?

Authorities as a matter of urgency must get involved in this search. If for no other reason than to safeguard future searches.

This "Search" should be investigated.

I think it is fair to say that the authorities are concerned and investigating the matter.

If remains were not actually found, or seen, that is one thing. However, that is not to say remains were/are not extant on site.

That another unauthorized (?) dig story would upset the French authorities (e.a. DRAC) as well! As a matter of fact, the digs in France would become forbidden to plan in a near future...

How do we know this dig was 'unauthorised' as you say?

Whilst there are certainly very many legitimate questions to ask in relation to this particular excavation it is understood that, apparently, all requisite permits were applied for and granted. Unless you know differently, ClinA-78, this does not appear one of the issues here.
