Red 14 of 2./JG 20 or 8./JG 51

All,

Would someone on the TOCH would happen to have some information, like the date of accident, on the Bf 109 E-4 "Red 14" of either 2./JG 20 or 8./JG 51 that had a landing gear collapse at Hesdin Airfield France during either Battle of France of Battle of Britain. Source: An expired eBay auction.

Sinisa,

I have another photo of the other side of this a/c intact under a camouflage net. Your photos is very likely Western Campaign but can't supply date for gear collapse. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Re: Red 14 of 2./JG 20 or 8./JG 51

Larry, thank you for your reply. I thought that this would be the Western Campaign loss. I still hope to pinpoint the more-or-less exact date when the black arched cat was removed from the Staffel's aircraft. The closest I get to that is I believe 22-23 June 1940, when 2./JG 20 took part in the victory fly over Paris. I have found no evidence that it was sported on the 8./JG 51 aircraft at all.
