Blenheim crashed at Martigny on 3 March'40

Hello Everyone,

I found information in french archive about the crash of one Bristol Bleinheim of the AAF. It is mentionned that the bomber crashed into the ground then exploded at Marigny les Reilles (?) during the night of March, the 3rd.
Do you have additional information on this event (unit, crew,...)?

Blenheim IV N6157 of 114 Squadron (P/O R.W.Farrow, Sgt Wallis, AC2 A.W.B.Sanders probably the aircraft you're looking for. 'The Battle of France Then and Now' says it crashed near Auxerre, but it is also in Bourgogne and this aircraft the only Blenheim of AAF lost on this date

Most recent information from RAF sources reports this crash at Montigny-la-Resle, north-east of Auxerre, at 11.50 p.m. on the night of 2 March 1940. Marigny-lès-Reullée is situated south-east of Beaune (of very fond memory) so which location is correct ?

The pilot of Blenheim N6157 was, 41388 P/O Robert William FARROW RAF, an Australian serving in the RAF.

Farrow, of Kingsford, Sydney, Australia, was educated at the Canberra Grammar School, ACT, and had a fine athletic record. He was captain of the school in 1932, and after leaving school entered a business career in Sydney. He later entered the Royal Australian Air Force and left Australia in 1938 to take up a short service commission with the RAF, on 14 December, 1938.

Hello,

I found additional info on this subject since this time.
It was reported that the "observer" bailed out and used the parachute. It is not mentioned if this person survived. However, 2 people were declared carbonised (I guess Pilote Farrow & Radio Sanders) but no indication about the Observer Sgt Wallis.
Did he survive after bailing out ?
