Hi guys
I'm seeking the first names or initials of the following, please: P/O I.G. Potts 73 Sqn POW 6/40 P/O ? Lindsell 1 Sqn 6/40 P/O C.F. Atkinson 151 Sqn 6/40 P/O ? Maxwell 151 Sqn 6/40 P/O ? Hello Brian,
A bit of a long shot I know but here is a Defiant link. Defiant L7025 s/d into the sea by Bf109's 2 miles off Herne Bay, Kent 26th August 1940. F/O I. R.Stephenson baled out ok. Sgt. W. Maxwell missing. Your P/O Maxwell of 151 Sqn Also used Defiants and your date is June. Just might be the same man ?? Then there was from your "Aegean" book a F/O "Jock" Maxwell ?? Only Maxwell as P/O in time frame on Air Force List (April 1940) I can find is
76462 Thomas Cairns Peattie Maxwell Don't know if him |

Paul must have the right man. From Sgt in 1939 to sqdn Ldr with DFC in 1948. see london Gazette, note the 5th January 1940 page has both service numbers. http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issu...war-ii/start=1 All the best Alex |
