![]() Dear All
My mother's maiden name is Dobrich, although of Yugoslav/Serb extraction. I'm trying to figure out if there is a family connection. There was a large Serb migrant population which settled in certain parts of Germany in the 19th century and previously. There were also large numbers of German 'Volkdeutsch' who settled in the former Yugoslavia. Most fled with the retreating Wehrmacht or were expelled from Yugoslavia by Tito's Communists after WWII. ANY assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me directly at ideasource@allstream.net, since I don't get to the Forum too frequently. Thanks Michael |
