Re: Fairey Battle K9325 218 Sqn Crew Members

To follow on from Col the two enlisted men were;
580843 Sgt. Neil Henry Thompson,
550453 AC1 Arthur Ellis.

The names came from the online AIR 78 documents on The National Archives website, plus the AIR 20/2336 RAF POW lists. These were used in conjunction with 'FOOTSTEPS ON THE SANDS OF TIME' by Oliver Clutton-Brock published in 2003 by Grub Street.

Regards,

Martin Gleeson.

Hi Martin,

I'm pretty sure the 218 Squadron Historian (Steve Smith), has confused AUS406474 F/L Alan Eason ELLIS RAAF, with 550453 AC1 Arthur ELLIS RAF.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help. I did try and look at the AIR 78 documents on the National Archives site, but was unable to download them. Thanks also for the other references, I will have to check them out.

Kevin

Col,

Thank you for bringing the error to my attention. I will amend the old web-site ASAP.

Kind regards

Steve
