pilot Ernst Brockhaus

Hello all,

Has anyone ever come across a Luftwaffe pilot (?) named Ernst Brockhaus?

He might have been at 'my' airfield Venlo in October/November 1943 but I can't find his name anywhere. There are several units possible for this period:

- Luftdienstkommando 2/III
- III./NJG 2
- Aufkl.St. NJG 1 (soon Luftbeob.St. 1 and 3)
- (unlikely) I./NJG 1

Any info is most appreciated ! All the best, Marcel

Re: pilot Ernst Brockhaus

Hi Marcel,

I have the following Brockhaus:

Fhj.Fw. Edwin Brockhaus, two night victories in 6./NJG101, KIA 14-15.9.44 at Matrafurck in German night fighter attack.

Hope this is of use!

Cheers, Theo

Re: pilot Ernst Brockhaus

Hello Theo,

Thanks for responding and though it is tempting to think that 'Edwin' could be the alleged 'Ernst', the fact that Ernst Brockhaus was born in Dortmund has been confirmed by research. New info suggests that the one I am looking for could have been Flugzeugmechaniker and not a pilot at all (!). Have sent the DD/WASt a request for further info. If there is any institute who has the most data about former Luftwaffe members, it's them.

So far I have never succeeded them to convince to send me copies of the Personaländerungsliste of the units I am looking for, would be THE source (if these lists do contain names) for reconstruction who was where with...

All the best, Marcel
