615 Sq Hurricane
http://www.ebay.de/itm/WW2-Foto-Elit...-/321076838654
This ebay photo shows an unidentified Hurricane. Advice please, especially if anyone can read some of the partially-visible serial. |

Re: 615 Sq Hurricane
Hi Graham
All I can make out is n33n or perhaps n38n. Which doesn't help much since N2330, 2331 and 2335 are all possibilities. Niall |

Re: 615 Sq Hurricane
That's what I thought, but they don't seem to fit when checked against Air Britain and Peter Cornwell's The Battle of France. N2331 and N2335 were both shot down. N2338 is sometimes quoted but this is a mistake, probably for N2330.
N2330 – Missing 16.5.40. Not in PC. Possibly unknown one of three lost that day? KW.F damaged but repairable 19.5.40. From PC Serial unknown, date uncertain. P2553 - Lost 31.5.40 NFD. Not in PC P2567 – from 607 Sq Lost in France. Not in PC P2580 – Lost In France 5.40. Not in PC P2582 – Lost in France 5.40. Not in PC P2583 – Lost in France 5.40. Not in PC There are of course quite a lot of other Hurricanes that were lost in France but not linked, as far as is known, to 615 Sq. |
