Re: Oberleutnant Dalstein 111//KG40

Here is what we have about him in our Officer Career Database:

DALSTEIN, Werner. (DKG). 09.41 Oblt., appt Staka Stab St./KG 26 (to 12.42). 25.05.42 Lt., awarded the Ehrenpokal. 16.08.43 Oblt. assigned to the Stab of an unspecified Fliegerführer, awarded the DKG.

Kracker's database has nothing about this fellow.

I looked at a number of personnel indices and came up dry.

That's all we can find. Why do you think he was associated with III./KG 40? What information do you have about this fellow?

DGS

His name does not crop up with anything I have on III/KG 40 either with He 111 or FW 200 but that is not to say he did not fly with III/KG 40

Werner Dalstein was Bombardier in the crew of Lt. Roderich Cescotti, 2./KG 26, JUne 1940 to July 1941. See Cescotti's Memoir: Langstreckenflug. Erinnerungen 1919 - 2012. Moosburg: NeunundzwanzigSechs 2012.
