one 6./JG 51 Gelbe 8 Bf 109 E-1(?) on eBay
Good morning Gentlemen,
Some comments about one photo I found on eBay during last week. Don't ask me the link I didn't keep it (Photoalbum). Here is the guy in attachment wearing the early 40 camouflage. Then another picture in Falcon site: http://www.me109.info/display.php?a=e&fid=2903 plane we can find, too, in JFV Teil 4.II on top of page 50; The emblem being under the leaves/shadow. Since the Ace of Heart is said to be Priller's personnal emblem and since - for what I know - this is not Priller's plane, can we suppose that emblem was borne by his kaczmarek or by a Schwarm? Best regards, Franck. Last edited by ouidjat; 1st July 2013 at 16:35. |

Salut Franck,
in the book "Das Jagdgeschwader 51" by Stipdonk and Meyer we learn that this was the Staffelemblem from 6./JG 51 as long as Priller was leading it. He already bore it on his plane "Winkel +" when at Gruppenstab I./JG 51 in Mannheim-Sandhofen 1939, and introduced it in 6. Staffel when he took comand. Schoene Gruesze Norbert |

Re: one 6./JG 51 Gelbe 8 Bf 109 E-1(?) on eBay
Bonsoir (pour moi) Norbert,
... Or Staffel emblem; effectively and I'm not surprised. All in all we are facing the same situation that "we" found with the said "Horrido-Wick-personnal-emblem". Except - in this case - that I didn't find, yet, any other machine than "Gelbe 1" and "Gelbe 8" arboring the Ace of Heart. Do you know others? Did Stipdonk and Meyer publish other different machines displaying that emblem? Thank you for your comment Norbert. Tschüss, Franck. |

Re: one 6./JG 51 Gelbe 8 Bf 109 E-1(?) on eBay
Hi Franck,
Interestingly, Bf109E-3 W.Nr.1342 now flying with the FHC is Ex-6./JG51. After a lot of research the % possibility was that 1342 could have been marked up as Yellow 8. Shame the W.Nr is not readable. regards Mark |

Re: one 6./JG 51 Gelbe 8 Bf 109 E-1(?) on eBay
Thanks Mark,
It's in Erla 1074 to 1574 Bf 109 E-3 production batch and Prien says Bf 109 E-1. Look Under; are we Lucky? ![]() I really don't know what's that one; certainly not that White 8 seen in JFV 4.II page 60, no yellow markings but no cowling neither fin .... Regards, Franck.
