Re: Crash site of a english airplane

I take it you meant No.205 Group.

Probably yes, they were the Group with Wellington squadrons in the Mediterranean.

Re: Crash site of a english airplane

Hello,

May not be the one but Wellington "C" of 150 Squadron was lost on the 31st August 1943 while on a raid Torre Annunziata.
Four crew W/O. P. Birch; Sgt R.D.Binks; Sgt. P.G. Furlong and Sgt. J. Hallsworth. All killed. Did a fifth crewmember survive ?

a/c serial number might be HE951
AB HA100-HZ999 has date as 30th Aug 43.

However, other losses in Aug 43 given as 2 a/c on 6th; 1 a/c on 26th. These may be matched up as HF466 and HF535 given as the 7th and HF693 given as the 27th.

These serial numbers are the closest I could find.

Alex
