Re: Josef Schaffer NJG KIA 2/3/44

Hello Milleke (and Matti !),

An additional comment is that Schaffer and Oloff formed a crew since they were members of the I./NJG 1. They escaped disaster in February 1942 when they landed in heavy fog a bit to late and crashed into a barrack of a Luftwaffe anti-aircraft emplacement: Oloff, Schaffer and a gunner escaped with minor injuries, but there were dead and wounded among the FLAK-unit.

Heinz Oloff survived WW-2.
All the best, Marcel

Re: Josef Schaffer NJG KIA 2/3/44

Seems Oloff visited the crashsite at Bihain many years ago.
