Fairey Battle L5497
I have a photo showing the tail of this aircraft after it had been shot down. It was allocated to the AASF in mid-May 1940 and I was wondering if anyone can help with further information on unit allocation and the crash.

Re: Fairey Battle L5497
Air Britain simply lists it as Lost in France. The aircraft is not listed in the superb reference Peter Cornwell's The Battle Of France Then and Now, so any further information would indeed be valuable.
If nothing comes of this, you could try posting the picture on the appropriate Luftwaffe Experten Message Board sub-forum, where a few such orphans have been identified. |
