Nokose will become famous soon enough
Oblt Gero Schmidt 5./JG 54 on 22Feb 42

Does anyone know if Oblt. Schmidt was performing escort duty at the time of his death for Ju 87s. I know that 1. ErgGr./JG 54 was part of the escort but didn't know that II./JG 54 was possibly involved. The mission time would have been 09:00-09:30 (B). Oblt Schmidt returned to the airfield and crashed to his death at Luga II. Also if any Ju 87 were lost in the mission to Tschudowo.
