As it's with other LG2/JG77 aircraft I guess a unit of the two. Possibly JG52?

According to Ralph Zimmer over on LEMB, the yellow band in front of the Balkenkreuz was carried by 1./LG 2.

Cheers

Hi Marc,
I am not that sure of that - I just stated (from memory!) that the kind of fuselage band reminded me of I/LG2 in 1941 on the eastern front. From that I concluded the possibility that this a/c MIGHT be from that Gruppe.
I don't have any proof for that assumption right now as I am at work and away from my bookshelves.
Regards
Ralph

Hi gents,

Erg.JG 77 suits me but my problem with this picture is it seems the plane is wearing an earlier camouflage ... though no cowling is not helpful too.

Re: eBay: One Bf 109. Any suggestion?

Hi Guys,

Back on it ...
These three following photos. All untitled II./JG 77. But the last one being taken in 1942 at Bukarest-Pipera (from another source) ... when II./JG 77 was already flying on Bf 109F.

Erg.JG 77 was based in Rumania, Pipera then Mizil then back in Pipera from May-1941 to 11-Jan-1942.
Since all those pictures are showing us dark camouflaged machines ...
Frankly I will stay with Erg./JG 77.
Weisse 4 in 1.(Einsatz) and black numbers with 2.(Ausb.).

...
Heinrich Graaf?
One of training unit for Rumanian Pilots???

I'll appreciate to "hear" you on that.

Regards, Franck.

Thanks Marc,

... One more point:
And, of course, the "Red 11" photos haven't been taken during winter 40-41, then winter 41-42 which was Erg.JG 77 time, not II./JG 77.
Enough ... for the moment I think.
