II/KG26 March 1941 Rhodes?

Hi guys

On 25 March 1941, Blenheims attacked Calato airfield on Rhodes and claimed one He111 destroyed and four damaged.

Were these aircraft of II/KG26? If not, which unit, and what damage was inflicted? Were there any ground casualties?

Cheers
Brian

No Luftwaffe losses reported on that day in that area. Therefore, if some He 111s were damaged, they must have been under 10 %.

According to the Italian “Diario Storico Comando Aeronautica Egeo 1941” at 05.55 hours, two airplanes identified as Blenheim bombed end strafed the airport of Gaddura. They dropped two bombs and incendiaries, damaging two german Ju.88. No ground casualties.

Cheers

Re: II/KG26 March 1941 Rhodes?

He111 were from II.KG26, one DP, one BP, Ju88 ?? for the moment the 2.F123 is leading , LG1 nd KG30 visited Rhodos later in the month , the idea was to find nd kill the aircraft carrier cruising around Kreta, who was occupied by the british in the Last autumn
