The entry in his flightbook say "At 14.45 20 km north of Rheine shot down by 4 Thunderbolts" "Enemy contact with 150 Liberators 10 Thunderbolts und Lightnings at EQ and FQ".

He flew a Bf 109 "9".

Hi,

"Target Berlin" By Alfred Price & Jeff Ethell (1981) gives a detailed account of his loss on pp 117/118 and states that he was shot down by Cap.W.Koraleski,
Lt.N.Fortier & Flt.Off.C.Barger 0f 355th F.G.

Cheers

Koraleski's squadron Code was WR*L, Fortier's was WR*N and Barger's was WR*C.

This 109 was cornered on the deck and had no chance to bail out.

It was a shared victory credit .33 each
