Captured spitfires used in Tunisia?
Hello,
When researching the G2 periodic report from the 9th US INfantry Division this report mentions the following: "Germans reported using a pair of captured spitfires" on 28 April 1943 and "Two captured spitfires reported over sector. Emitted white vapor over two positions, which were shelled immediately thereafter" Is this correct? Iff so, is ther emore known about these Spits? Who flew them? Where they used for long? Etc... Thanks in advance, |
