I saw this book today in Borders, published by Greenhill in 2005. The author Vasily B. Emelianenko flew IL-2s. Anybody read it and have any comments? Amazon listing http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/185...40969?n=283155

I read it, it is a very good book, staight forward a front line pilot's story, no any kind of B*****t, highly recommanded

Thanks. It looked interesting, from what I scanned. The photos also weren't the usual, familiar ones of IL-2s, looked more like from his collection or the unit archives (wish there were more of them). Think I'll pick it up.
