Flt/Lt Henry Hector BOLITHO (74393)
I'm trying to find out what exact date Flt/Lt Henry Hector BOLITHO (74393) arrived at Eastbury Park, Coastal Commands HQ at Northwood and when he left the Air Ministry in London.
Unfortunately, a back log exists at Cranwell and I just wondered if anyone had the info? |

Re: Flt/Lt Henry Hector BOLITHO (74393)
Andy,
Might help if people know what Bolitho was up to during the war: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hector_Bolitho A Penguin in the Eyrie:An R.A.F. Diary 1939 to 1945, London:Hutchinson,1953, by Hector Bolitho, only mentions these appointments in the broadest of terms. Col. |

Hello Andy
I expect you have this info already (and that you are after the posting date to Coastal Command Northwood from the actual ORB)? Air Force List May 1940 8B Air Ministry Directorate of Public Relations F/Lt H. H. Bolitho Air Force List May 1941 14 Air Ministry –(continued) ACAS (Intelligence) Directorate of Intelligence (Security) – (cont.) Flying Officer H. H. Bolitho 29 Nov 40 Mark |

Re: Flt/Lt Henry Hector BOLITHO (74393)
The early WW2 Coastal Command HQ ORB is AIR 24/364. Only notes made a decade ago cover Aug 40 'mainly about Senior Ranks visiting HQ at "Northwood" ' so I did not get any pages p/copied.
I'll PM a separate message. Mark |

Re: Flt/Lt Henry Hector BOLITHO (74393)
Mark, Col Bruggy,
Thank you for your help, Bolthio wrote so much more (than he actually published) whilst he was in the RAF. Trying to piece together enough from his time in Coastal Command for a future book. Kind Regards & A Merry Christmas Andy |
