Re: Flugplätze der Luftwaffe 1934-1945, Bd. 8: Bayern - Luftgau XIII - Nürnberg

Dear Ed,

I have the first 6 volumes, so I guess I missed one in the interim. Zapf combines period layout drawings and aerial and ground photography with present day photos, with text on each airfield. If you specialize in a specific airfield, you'd probably hunger for more. But, as an overview of each airfield, it is a worthwhile source.

I am especially interested in this latest volume, as it covers Bavaria, or at least a part of it, where Me 262 activity was strong. I'm afraid that Christmas has run up some bills, probably like most of us, so my purchase will need to wait until the "Battle of the (financial) Bulge" is over.

Regards,
Richard

Dear Richard,

Thanks for the additional information. Like you, my financial bulge won't be over until the end of January next year.

Regards,
Ed

Dear Ed,

Thanks for the URL for volume 7. Together with volume 8 and the shipping costs, I figure I'll be out $200. Yikes!

Regards,
Richard

Dear Richard,

Yikes indeed. For me, when buying books from Germany, I pick carefully, save my money and only buy the items I feel I can't live without, or I try to find an outlet in the US for things like Luftwaffe im Focus.

Regards,
Ed
