Erich Brunotte (33 Victories?)

The Kracker Archive indicates that Erich Brunotte was credited with 33 victories -I've found no indication to support this. Can anyone confirm or deny Brunotte's success as a fighter pilot?

Thanks

Re: Erich Brunotte (33 Victories?)

Rob, I see nothing for him in the III & IV/JG51 for 1942 but 13(Pz),/JG51 is the listed unit for him on "Kracker". Prien's JFV9/II has that Staffel flying the Hs 129 from the 1Jul42 -3Feb43 (I have nothing else on them after that time). Maybe its tanks instead of aircraft.

Re: Erich Brunotte (33 Victories?)

Rob,

Erich Brunotte flew with 13/JG51 in 1944/45, he flew his last mission on 3rd May 1945. 13/JG51 was originally 10/JG51 which was renamed in August 1944 when the Jagd Gruppen were expanded from 3 Staffeln to 4 staffeln. As to success, according to Aders history of JG51 he got 3+ victories but who knows what he really achieved at that late stage of the war.

13(Pz)./Jg51 was formed in august 1942 but in October 1943 became part of SG9.

Regards,

Craig..

Re: Erich Brunotte (33 Victories?)

33 is correct. He changed units several times, that´s perhaps why the "historians" had difficulties to track his records. Last mission on 3rd May is correct. He flew as wingman of Heinz Marquardt since mid 1944.
