Plt Off Ben Bennions 41 Sqn 28 Sep 40

Yes again, it would appear that his claims for two probables on this day are missing-does anyone have copies or a transcript?

Chris,

All I have is that BENNIONS claimed two 109 probables during an high-altitude combat between Canterbury & Newhaven at 13.40 hours on 28 September 1940. Seven Spitfires were attacked by 109s at 27,000 feet and two returned badly damaged one being BENNIONS himself (R6619 Cat.2). He was knocking bits off a 109 when he came under attack himself after which he claimed another 109 probable 'four miles south of Brighton'.

Thanks again Peter. This would sound more likely for the Pingel combat then
