Henschel 126 5F+CK 2(H)14

In Squadron Leader Nobby Clarke's book 'What were they like to fly?' he tells of discovering an abandoned HS126 in the North African desert, fixing it up, and flying it back to Gambut Main (all whilst suffering from jaundice & yellow fly fever!)
How it was left there was a mystery to him as it had fuel & oil sufficeient to get back.
Does anyone know the story behind this?
