Two Luftwaffe SG pilots - Schoppe/Neumann
Hi
Has anyone ever met these two guys. Wondering if they still had photos/flugbuchs from their wartime career. Long shot I know. SCHOPPE, Franz-Josef (Joseph). (DOB: 10.03.21). Credited with 262 missions. 2004 living in Lippstadt. NEUMANN, Rudolf. (DOB: 24.09.20 in Paspenau/Sudetenland). Credited with 550 combat missions. Bailed out twice. †08.11.95 in either Weilheim or Weinheim. regards MS |

Re: Two Luftwaffe SG pilots - Schoppe/Neumann
(National Archives AIR40/2264: PEARL/ZIP/GAM Reports 1944-45) On 22 May 1945 a signal from Oberstlt. Wilke to OKL and Gen. der Flieger Meister gave the CO of III./KG 200 as Oberleutnant Schoppe.
I assumed that he took over after Helmut Viedebantt was killed on 1 May. Schoppe appears in a group shot of III./KG 200 pilots that's been published a couple of times. |
