Re: Photos + 1-19

Hello!

A photo of the Bf 109 E S9+DR from other side can be found at Australian War Memorial photograph database. I tried a direct link, but it did not work. The AWM search page is at:
http://cas.awm.gov.au

For search term insert only the photo negative which is 014129 . As result you should get the thumbnail and photo information.

The AWM caption goes like this:
"Egypt. 1943-01-20. Almost intact. A Messerschmitt aircraft that came out to strafe the Eighth Army convoys near Fuka, and was shot down, almost undamaged. It's pilot was taken prisoner, and the convoys rolled on."

The plane is from 7./ZG 1?

Cheers,
Kari

Re: Photos + 1-19

Is the Bloch 131 correctly identified? Also, the Ju 88/Me 323 collision was the subject of several images a few months ago but misidentified in the Bf 109 grouping.

Best Regards,

Artie Bob

Hi,
I think it was not a Bloch MB 131 but a Martin 167F light bomber;
Best regards
