Who could have thought of this. 70 years later and be still flying, currently over Greenland Sea, enroute Narsarsuaq (BW-1) to Reykjavik (Indigo). Plans to Scotland tomorrow. Ed Last edited by edNorth; 20th May 2014 at 15:26. Reason: typos |

Re: C-47A veteran enroute to D-Day celebrations 2014
Interesting. It's too bad Buffalo Airways didn't send over their warbird, C-GWZS, former RAF serial number KG330, which took part in all three airborne ops. That would be an interesting exercise and publicity stunt.
Maybe they'll do it for the 100th anniversary? Stephen |

Thanks. I was told there was target of assembling 15 planes for the this years event, doing the para drop. Do not know if this is true. Will be on lookout if this or others pass thru. The Douglas C-47A A.C. 43-30562 c/n. 13803 "Whisky Seven Romeo" (W7-R) N345AB took off Reykjavik at 10:00 hrs local for Scotland. Photos for yesterdays arrival (and departure soon up). www.flickr.com/photos/35133216@N05/
