B-24H "Beast of Bourbon" nose colour?
I'm trying to pin down the nose colour used for the nose art of B-24H "The Beast of Bourbon" of the 36th BS, 482nd BG, which crashed in February 1945 near Cheddington. There's a photo and more info here:
http://www.b24bestweb.com/beastofbourbon2.htm Googling it brings up a variety of interpretations of the nose colour - green, red, OD. From the B+W photos it looks like the upper nose is possibly OD, and perhaps the rest of the Beast is green? Does anyone know for sure? Regards Simon |
