Aircrew from 9/ZG76 1940
I wonder if anybody can confirm any details for the following airmen from 9/ZG76 1940.
They were all apparantly awarded the Iron Cross during 1940 for sorties over Poland and later during the Western Campaign, possibly previously with 6/ZG1. Details of the fates, date of award, first names would be most appreciated. Fw.Thilow 5 sorties over Poland, 17 sorties in the West up to circa (11.7.40 ) 2x Kills, Fw.Baumgartel, 5 sorties over Poland, 21 sorties in the West up to circa ( 11.7.40) Fw.Nodinger, 5 sorties over Poland, 17 sorties in the West up to cica ( 11.7.40 ) Source "Luftwaffe Crash Archive" Vol 1 by Nigel Parker pg.68.from Red Kite Books. Best Regs, Steve. |

A list of airmen in both 6/ZG 1 and 9/ZG 76 for May-Oct 40 show nobody with these names

Re: Aircrew from 9/ZG76 1940
Good morning Chris, thanks for the confirmation of 6/ZG1 and 9/ZG76 aircrew which unfortunately doesn't include my men.
Perhaps these were pre- May 1940 or indeed another unit. If anybody else has any data on these aircrew perhaps with another Zerstorer Gruppe i'd be keen to learn more. Best regs, Steve. |

Re: Aircrew from 9/ZG76 1940
Many thanks udf-00, your link is most helpful and adds confirmation as to this airman being with 6/ZG1 and 9/ZG76, during the period im looking at.
Larry Hickey, if your looking at this thread id be grateful if you could confirm whether the EoE Group have managed to obtain any further information on the Flugbuch or claims for Nodinger from the grouping previously advertised in 2012 as linked by udf-00. Best regs, Steve. Steve |

And his claims seem to be fake...

Re: Aircrew from 9/ZG76 1940
Steve,
Indeed I'm monitoring this thread. I've no further information on the FB or its contents. However, "Robert" who just posted is our foremost expert on the Polish Campaign for the EoE Working Group, and he's made his position on the issue clear. I can assure you that he's exhaustively researching the subject and I put great weight on this comments. |
