Re: Losses I./KG66 – April 1944
Hi Laidvoisin, it would be better to open this as a new thread. I believe a Bf 110 crashed at Jaunpass on the 19-07-44 but I have no details on this,

Re: Missing Ju-88 in 1944
A German aircraft was apparently abandoned by its crew over France or Germany, but continued to fly until crashing near the Jaunpass in the Swiss Alps at about 03.30 hrs on 19 July 1944.
The aircraft was completely destroyed in the crash and the Swiss Army was not able to identify its type. It must have been a twin-engined aircraft with 12-cylinder liquid-cooled inverted in-line engines, initially thought to be from a Bf 110 but listed as Ju 88 in the report about the incident. Crash report available from the Swiss Federal Archives: https://www.swiss-archives.ch/detail.aspx?ID=1440438 Some photos of the crash location: http://www.warbird.ch/contento/Beric...H/Default.aspx |
