Captured Fw 190 F-3

Gentlemen,
about halfway down on this site: http://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.p...016&start=3345 you find two very nice photos of a crashed and captured Fw 190 F-3, Werknummer 670057 or 670067, marked "-+-". Any idea (or documented evidence) to which unit it has belonged?

Cheers,
Christian

Re: Captured Fw 190 F-3

Cannot be 670057, because it was destroyed in 1943:
1943-06-03, 3./Fl.ÜG 1 Nord, Fw 190 F-3, 670057, Dresden, Absturz infolge Bedienungsfehler. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer Uffz Norkeweit, Helmut, +

670064 - 670065, 670068, 670071, 670073 - 670076 were used by Schl.G 1, 670069 by Schl.G 2. No info on 670066 - 670067, 670070 and 670072.

Well this helps to narrow down the Werknummer possibilities - thank you, Matti!

Well thank you too, Steve May I ask what's the source for "Klatov"?

Re: Captured Fw 190 F-3

Hello again,

I just noticed that this "F-3" has all of the characteristics of a rebuilt airframe brought up to Fw190A-8, Fw190F-8, or later, standards.

These include: An Fw190A-8 4-gun wing (with only the two wing root MG151/20s required on an Fw190F-8); a wing leading edge gun camera aperture for a Robot camera; an A-8/F-8 bulged cowl gun cover and 2xMG131/13 machine guns; and a right wingtip-mounted pitot tube. It also features a late-war black outlined Hakenkreuz. All of these details point toward its being a rebuilt airframe.
