Kampfstaffel 2/806
Hello I am looking for any information into this crewmember I believe he was killed in action Helmut Mirsch on the 14/09/41 whilst flying with this squadron,
any help with the other members of the crew would be great. Also what type of operations was this squadron undertaking at the time, I know they were flying JU88's. regards |

Re: Kampfstaffel 2/806
On 14.Sept.1941 germans were landing on island Muhu (Moon in german) in Estonia.
KGr 806 had 3 total losses reported for this day. One plane made crash landing into the sea near Virtsu (Werder in german), second one (where Mirsch was MIA/KIA) made crash landing into the sea at the unknown location and from third crew bailed out at the unknown location. If this is not a mistake, then two losses may be unrelated to Muhu landing? |

Re: Kampfstaffel 2/806
There is a Gen.Qu.6.Abt listing for Ju 88 A-4 W.Nr. 1202 lost 100% in a forced landng at sea on 14 Sept. 1941, killing pilot Uffz.Helmet Mirsch. The exct location was not reported and I do not have the crew members names. I believe the SKZ for that aircraft was not CE+ZB, it possibly may have been RD+YB, but do not have a primary source to reference.
Best regards, Artie Bob |

Re: Kampfstaffel 2/806
Andrew is probaly right , CE+ZB is 141202, not 881202, CE+ZB has been produced around jan.43
