Re: Help in finding out Ju88 variant
Variants used by I/NJG 200 were the Ju 88 C-6, G-1 and G-6. For more precise data you need provide period info, and/or photo of plane in question.

Re: Help in finding out Ju88 variant
Thanks Ed, What known dates that are recorded as downed aircraft are as follows.18-03-44 , 01-04-44 , 14-07-44 , 25-07-44 & 21-01-45 . As far as any photo's of pilot Kayser's plane flown WISH I had one . I have his award documents ,there lies the reason I was looking for help. I contacted the German Military archive back around Easter have yet to hear anything back. From what photos I have seen in books namely Luftwaffe colour series Nachtjager they show I/NJG100 using more the G-6 type.

Re: Help in finding out Ju88 variant
Ok, but I am not realy into the individual plane/pilot research "per se". Maybe his logbook lies hidden somewhere, giving version for these dates and C9+GH likely used by many pilots and planes in 1944 to 1945, as "average life" of each machine was just a few months.
Main Night-Fighter variants (Radar equipped) were respectively the Ju 88 C-6, R-2, G-1 and G-6. And I/NJG 100 used all of them plus Do 217 etc. |

Re: Help in finding out Ju88 variant
Ah, first there is typo in text Post #2 (NJG 200 should be NJG 100)
Second, C9+GH was I/NJG 5 code, as udf_OO points out. I only have Ju 88 C-6 360336 C9+RV in 2./NJG 100 in 02.1944. All other Ju 88 G-1 and G-6, I have (with C9+_H code) are given I/NJG 5 so these dates you give, should have been with unit NJG 5 (if with NJG 100 my list are of no use, as many codes are were simply not recorded). The code C9+GH is from what source? But likely best I surrender this case over to the Night-Fighter Experten! Best Ed |

Re: Help in finding out Ju88 variant
Thanks Gents ,The source for the C9+GH code comes from Kayser's Flugbefehl and Riechswetterdienst (weather report),dated 11-2-1944 which I believe to be his 1st nite mission. They were part of the document package when I bought them. There is no geschwader designation given.I am aware that NJG5 was redesignated NJG100 , perhaps he was assighned this aircraft during the switch over? (not sure the exact date that happened)Lt.Kayser was awarded the night fighter clasp in silber on 8-30-1944 this document has his geschwader as I/NJG100.Wish there was a JU88 data source . Thanks guys

Re: Help in finding out Ju88 variant
Ok, does it mention it was for Ju 88, else I/NJG 5 had Bf 110´s.
