Question Heinz Ott,Ground Attack Pilot,DKiG

Gentlemen,

How many combat sorties did Heinz Ott had flown during WWII? He was a Schlachtflieger who won the German Cross in Gold when he was in SG-2. Other information about Ott would be fine.

Sincerely,

Edward L. Hsiao

Your best chance of finding out the number of missions he flew is finding his flugbuch.

Wehrpas sometimes also had the number flights listed, typically corresponding with higher awards or spange.

Re: Heinz Ott,Ground Attack Pilot,DKiG

Here is some info from Andy Fletcher's compilation of DKiG holders.

Ott, Heinz F Fw (26/11/43) DKiG 8.(Pz)/Sch.G. 2, ?13.(Pz)/SG 9?

And some info from Stankey and de Zeng's Officer listings.

OTT, Heinz. (DKG). 07.02.44 Fw., awarded the DKG. 28.02.44 Uffz., awarded the Ehrenpokal. 1945 Oblt. and Staka 3./SG 77.

These do not appear to agree very much but may help.
