Re: Ryan PT-22 Recruit of the Ecuadorian Air Force questions

Hello Ryan,

According to Butler and Hagedorn's Air Arsenal North America, though used for training Ecuadorian pilots, the machines were actually flown by pilots of the USaaf Mission. They never belonged to the Ecuadorian Air Force.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Ryan PT-22 Recruit of the Ecuadorian Air Force questions

Hello Rick,

Based on the information in the book it is not possible to say whether the PT-22s wore FAE markings. However, it does seem suggestive that the USAAF serials are known, while,at least as far as I am aware, no known Ecuadorian serials for the aircraft exist. I guess what is really required is photos..

Regards,

Clint
