Loss details required for He-59 - October 1939.

Can anyone give me any details please on the loss of a He-59 (AE+AS) which possibly belonged to Seenotstaffel 1 on 4th October 1939? I have the crew names of Kahl & Steifel but am looking for the official reason for the crash.

Peter

This accident is also recorded as happening on October 18th.
Which date is correct?

The date of 4th October is taken from Stiefel's Flugbuch.

Re: Loss details required for He-59 - October 1939.

Hi all

The plane isn't overturned by landing. In fact the plane was landing and a piece of the aircraft named "Hahnepot" (I think the british word is "bridle") is going in the circle of the left propeller and damaged the float.
For this reason the plane is capsized. The grade of damage was 95 percent.
(Source: KTB G.d.L.b.ObdM-OQu.12.39).

best wishes
JoMe
