Re: beeldbankwo2.nl (picture database)

The site isn't allowing access on the links?

Go to the main page and search "Luftwaffe", seems to work

Don

Re: beeldbankwo2.nl (picture database)

Michiel,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention again. At some point there was a close up of the 6./JG 11 Kohlenklau emblem somewhere on the beeldbankwo2.nl site. Try as I might, I cannot find it anymore. Did you come across it by some lucky chance?

Regards,
Sinisa

Re: beeldbankwo2.nl (picture database)

Lets try it differently:
enter in search Beeldnummer/Image number:152172

it should get this: Fliegerhorst Schellingwoude, Amsterdam.

Re: beeldbankwo2.nl (picture database)

Hi...

Thanks for the link to this site... some interesting images.

Appended below is one image from the Ju88 section. Is anyone able to confirm this is KG76? The umbrella in the unit insignia does not sit at the correct angle to be the 4./KG76 insignia (Ketley's 2012 edition 'Luftwaffe Emblems', p94 #414), and it appears to completely lack the 'duck wearing a tin helmet' motif over which the gunsight was positioned.

The barest minimum of the unit's parent code may be seen to the left of the fuselage cross - a very slight horizontal bar and a very feint 'point' - might this be the top of the 'F1' code of KG76?

Because of what I perceive is the unit code 'F1', I have discounted the possibility of it being a KG30 aircraft, if for no other reason because that insignia is usually set against a shield motif (Ketley's 2012 edition 'Luftwaffe Emblems', p86 #361).

Regards,

Paul
