Hans-Ulrich Tartsch

Hi guys

Leutnant Hans-Ulrich Tartsch (6 victories) of 10./JG 2 was listed as missing on 8 June 1944. Unfortunately, I have no other information regarding his loss. Could anyone please add the usual details regarding this incident? Many thanks.

Horrido!

Leo

Hans-Ulrich Tartsch

Hello Matti and Fredo

That was quick! Many thanks for your input and taking the time to help me with this information. He was quite a veteran pilot at the time and doubtless his loss was a severe blow to III./JG 2.

Horrido!

Hans-Ulrich Tartsch

Hi Fredo

Many thanks for the link. It certainly looks to be be very complete and includes several nice photographs of this pilot. It is quite difficult to come across information of the lesser-known aces so this is of considerable help and greatly appreciated.

Horrido!

Leo

Leo

The site and Tartsch's documents are actually from my collection. Not sure I can be of more assistance but let me know I'd be glad to help.

Regards.

Re: Hans-Ulrich Tartsch

A few corrections/additions. Tartsch was injured 29 Jan 43 at Brest-Nord in FW 190 A-4, Wk Nr 0780. I would not regard his death as a 'severe blow' when compared to the loss of Hptm Herbert Huppertz of III/JG 2 on the same day who flew operationally from the start of the war, had 70 kills and was a Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub holder. Finally, 885 Sqn is not an RAF sqn by FAA and I have the claims for 886 Sqn not 885?
