New book by Theo Boiten?

Hi,

In the Bibliography of Nachtjagd War Diaries Vol 2 i found the following:

"-Theo Boiten , Battlefield North Sea. The air-to-sea and sea warfare in the Dutch coast area, 1939-1945 (doctoral dissertation, Leiden University, under preparation)."

I wonder if it will be publicly available?

Cheers,
Peter

Re: New book by Theo Boiten?

Hi Peter,

My dissertation on the air and sea warfare on the Dutch coast is still a work under construction -since starting the Nachtjagd War Diaries project in 1999, I have devoted about 20 hours every week to the NJWD project and that, combined with my regular job & family life has keep me very busy indeed. After the publication of the NJWD 1st edition in 2008 (in two vols) I and my team have been working on a 2nd edition of the NJWD, which will be published in 4 volumes in 2015.

After the publication of the NJWD 2nd edition in 2015, I plan to take some time off writing and then pick up my work on my dissertation again. During the 1990s I've built up a large archive with several thousands of photos from German Kriegsmarine and Merchant Marine vets and interviewed and corresponded with over 200 vets for this project. Enough material to fill a great book!

I only wish a day had 48 instead of 24 hours..

Cheers, Theo

Re: New book by Theo Boiten?

I've checked amazon.com and did not see a listing as of today. The idea of a 4 volume book series covering this topic is something I should start saving money for.
