Seeking photos of Bf110D of Stab I./ZG2, Maj Harry Carl

Hello,

For the EoE Project, we're attempting to do a color profile of the Bf110D flown by Maj Harry Carl, in which he was killed after returning to France damaged during the Battle of Britain on 16.08.40. I have the photo of his BF in the cockpit of this a/c, presumably 3M+AB, published in the Vasco/Cornwell book Zerstörer, P.129, but I need a view of the rest of this a/c, and any scoreboard that it might have carried.

Thanx for any help on this.

KR,

Re: Seeking photos of Bf110D of Stab I./ZG2, Maj Harry Carl

Hello,

As an add on to this request, has anyone ever located any photos of the crash of this a/c, perhaps on eBay, near Fort-Moville, 6 km south of Beuzeville, France? They may have been captioned in a way that would allow them to be attributed to this a/c. Has anyone ever actually located this crash site, and possibly found remains suggesting a W.Nr.?

Re: Seeking photos of Bf110D of Stab I./ZG2, Maj Harry Carl

Hello,

Just as an update, I've acquired a photo of Bf110D A2+AB of Stab II./ZG2 that satisfies the first part of my request. Still seeking a photo of Carl's crash on 16.08.40 in France.

Who can help me close out this request?

Based on the colour of the A, is it the same plane?

Re: Seeking photos of Bf110D of Stab I./ZG2, Maj Harry Carl

Hello,

My apologies. Maj Harry Carl was the Gr Kdr of I./ZG52 and beginning in July, 1940 II./ZG2. The a/c that I'm looking for would be A2+AB, vice 3M+AB, which was flown by Maj Ernst Ott, Gr Kdr, the Gr Kdr of I./ZG2. I have the photos of Ott sent above, which I have. I greatly appreciate the help above, even though I gave the wrong a/c.

Sorry for the mix up. Too many irons in the fire.
