Fw 190A-9 W.Nr. 206000
Hello!
I want to know if anyone can tell me when Fw 190A-9 W.Nr. 206000 was accepted? I hope to also find a Fw 190D-9 in the W.Nr. 210xxx - 211xxx range that was accepted at the same date? /Micke |

Re: Fw 190A-9 W.Nr. 206000
Hello Rémi!
No I have not found anything new on this plane, sadly. I want to modell this plane some day and needs to know when it was produced so I can figure out how it was painted. All illustrations of this plane, (exept Kagero), shows it in RLM 74/75/76, and I don't believe that to be true. Focke-Wulf started using Dark green (83 or what ever it was called) and 82 sometime in November 1944 or possibly earlier, Lt. Theo Nibels Fw 190D-9 W.Nr. 210079 is the first noted to have used two greens on the wings. I don't think Focke-Wulf painted the A-9's different from the D-9's. My problem is that I don't know when when Focke-Wulf built the different A-9 batches in relations to the D-9 batches, how much A-9 production overlapped D-9 production. You said that 206000 arrived to KG(J) 27 at 20 March 1945, but was it newely built then? If this plane was fairly new in March I guess it was painted in greens! |

Re: Fw 190A-9 W.Nr. 206000
Micke,
the batch WNr. 205901 to 206000 was build by Fw Cottbus during December 1944. The WNr. 206000 did not arrive on 20.03.45, it was already damaged for 15% by 7./KG(J) 27 in a taxi accident on 20.02.45 at Wels. The D-9 production was performed by a different assembly line at Sorau since August 1944 and ended there during February 1945. During January and February 1945 also Fw Cottbus manufactured D-9 aircraft in the range 212xxx and 213xxx.
