Public Archives of Canada

Dear friends, is there a web site where I can view and download Public Archives of Canada photos from WW2. I believe that in Canada photos from this period can be down loaded for free. Sadly a trawl of the web has not given a link, and I'm after a few photos of 408 Sqn RCAF Hampdens

Hi Larry

Try this link
http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/Pages/home.aspx

There may not be many WW2 photos though but it's a start

Re: Public Archives of Canada

Hi again

I came across some eBay listings with 408 Squadron aircraft.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/35mm-Photo-Sl...UAAOSwEppUNryH

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/B-W-Photo-WW2...oAAOSwF1dUUTFX

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/35mm-Photo-Sl...8AAOSwU9xUNry7

Just a few listed above but the search for 408 is below from the same seller.

Good luck

Vince...

Re: Public Archives of Canada

Thanks for the last link; I was able to find the two photos I was after - but the quality is not good which is not surprizing if someone has made copies to sell on eBay (from public archives!).

So any link to the archive with these Hampton's doing dingy drill would be gratefully received.

There is another photo of this a/c with the dingy on the wing

I assume you have found this one, it appears to have been taken at the same time:
