Bf 110 Crew - June 26, 1944 - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hi all,

I would like to ask, if someone knows WHEN and WHERE were born Luftwaffe airmen, that formed one crew of Bf 110G-2 2N+AP, that was lost on June 26, 1944. Their names were: Fhr. Hugo Feindt (WIA) and Ogefr. Helmut Döpke KIA, both ZG 1.
Any biographical data, awards, anything from Luftwaffe service etc. would be of course warmly welcomed as well as any photo of these men.

Fhr. Hugo Feindt, born 29th January 1922 in Grünendeich/Stade.
Ogefr. Helmut Döpke, born 29th March 1923 in Hamburg.
2N+AP had the W. Nr. 130083.

The information comes from the Namentliche Verlustmeldung completed at unit level.

Hi Peter,

this is interestig. I know on June 26, 1944 many-many Me 410s were lost due to American fighter attacks, but those all belonged to ZG.76. 2N+.. was standard code for ZG.76, not ZG.1.

ZG.1 used the Me 110Gs. So what plane are we talking about, and where did it crash?

HI Gabor,

As written in my first message, it was Bf 110 G-2. And not ONLY ZG 76 joined battle on June 26, 1944.
And standard code for ZG 76 was M8+... in fact some ZG 76 Gruppen had M8 (digit)+...(sign of Gruppe)

yes, yes, I knew about those M8.. and markings of those Me 410s, but did ZG.76 have Me 110G-2s as well with 2N+?? markings???? Cheers,

I just do not see How did you manage to mix this question with ZG 76...???
From the beginning we are talking about ZG 1 and Bf 110...

Hi Peter,

yes, I can read, but you'd better check your letter code as 2N+.. has been assigned to the ZG.1 planes only in the early years of the war, as later (1944...) it was the letter code of the ZG.76 planes beside the M8...markings! In 1944 ZG.76 used both 2N+ and M8..+ markings!!!

2N was code of ZG.1 only in the beginning of the war, later it marked the (III/)ZG.76 planes!!!!

So calm down and check your data again!
