Help

Dear Experts,

I am researching a crashed Bf-109, sorry to say that we have hardly any data about this crash.
No pilot´s name ( he survived by chute), no day of crash, no reason for crash, not any written document!
We only know the confirmed crash site now. A geomagnetic investigation of the ground confirmed a bigger metal block deep under the soil.
My questions:
How does a Bf-109 identity plaque (Serial plate) look like ? (Foto?)
Where was it mounted in a BF-109 ? How many ?
Is / was the engine number of the plane registered in the specific "log book" of a Bf-109 ?
Have guns been registered in the log book, like they are to be found in US-MACRs?
If a digging would start, it might be possible to find plates, engine numbers etc.
Many thanks für your replies
