Help identifing KG 1 aircaft

Hey guys

I have two Ju 88's written off 100% in July 1941 w.nr. 3408 (lost on 7.7.41) and 8264 (lost on 17.7.41). I believe they were III./KG 1. Were they Stab 1.2.or 3. squadron ?

Thanks

Re: Help identifing KG 1 aircaft

Hello again,

The place is Pleskau and yes it was from bombardment 17.7.41, damage 100%, w.nr. 8264, III./KG 1. Seems there was another aircraft involved in the same bombardment from Stab/KG 1 on 17.7.41 also at Pleskau but no w.nr. nor damage rating.

hope that helps

Re: Help identifing KG 1 aircaft

Not knowing what you actually have for WNr. 3408, here's what I have. (Because of conflicting sources this may not be accurate. There is no loss for that date for a WNr. that ends in '38' as stated per Kaiser, but the loss for WNr. 3408 matches the circumstances. It's certainly possible that there was an unreported loss.)

Ju 88A-5, 3408, LEHWEß-LITZMANN, Major Walter, , III., Stab III., KG 1, , V4+AD, ND+MH, , 07-Jul-41, Engine damage due to infantry fire during return from attack on Pernau airfield. Notlandung behind enemy lines, crew returned., F RK. WNr. ??38 per Kaiser., Lfl.1/Eins.Osten, Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #3)-Vol.5; Kaiser, Die Ritterkreuzträger der Kampfflieger, V.2, p.16-17, Medcalf, (Pernau), 100%, F, , , Henschel Flzg.Werke Schönefeld in Mar-41

My info for WNr. 8264 matches that with the other guys here.

Re: Help identifing KG 1 aircaft

Thank you Gentlemen for you replies, largely everything is confirmed they were with Stab or III./KG 1. One thing that I am not clear on is "Ju 88A-5, 3408 LEHWES_LITZMAN, Major Walter,,III., Stab III., KG 1, ,V4+AD, ND+MH, , 07-Jul-41" Is this referring to one or two aircraft ? Other than that

thank you all
and to all a good night

Re: Help identifing KG 1 aircaft

'V4+AD' is the code the aircraft wore with KG 1, but every aircraft was also a four-character Stammkenzeichen, or registration code, in this case 'ND+MH'.
