Paul Schauder
I am in touch with a B-17 gunner from 401stBG who was shot down on 20 March 1944 by Paul Schauder.

My contact would like to know what happened to Schauder for the rest of the war and afterwards.

Hoping you can help.

In his latter years I believe he ran a hotel but could be wrong. I tried to contact him via a mutual friend but he was never forthcoming

From Jägerblatt Nr.2/2004 page 55. Paul Schauder died 22.01.2004. Studied architecture after the war war, but joined Bundesluftwaffe again, being one of the first to be trained on jets in the USA. At sometime Kommodore of JaboG 32 in Lechfeld. He retired as Oberst (Colonel). Last years of his life he was in a home for elderly in München. His wartime career can be found in the officer files of Larry DeZeng and Doug Stankey (on the net).
