V.(Z)/LG 1 on 9th May 1940

Gentlemen,

V.(Z)/LG 1 lost one Bf 110 due to fuel shortage on 09.05.1940. The location is given as Katten in "The Battle of France" as well as in Peter Taghons "Die Geschichte des Lehrgeschwaders 1", but there is no location with this name known to me.

My copy of the GQM returns is not readable in this case, but the location should be not "Katten". Is there anybody out there with a readable copy of "Flugzeugunfälle und Verluste bei den Verbänden am 09.05.1940", page 2?

Thanks in advance,

Heuser

Re: V.(Z)/LG 1 on 9th May 1940

Hi, guys.

Out of curiosity - I read the unit as II./ZG1 for this record.

Please see attachment for the record for the loss on May 9th 1940 - and for comparison a record from May 11th 1940 wher I have noted V./LG 1as the unit.

Regards,
Andreas B

Dear all,

thank you very much for your efforts! Kattenvenne is a possibility and II./ZG... is much more likely for this entry than V./LG..., even in my poor copy.

Kind regards,

Heuser
