Question GC II/5 'Lafayette'

I'm looking for more info on GC II/5 "Lafayette". When did they exchange their Warhawks for Thunderbolts, who was their commander at that time? Did 'Kostia' Rozanoff remain in charge of the unit?
Could any of you perhaps recommend a book (in English) dealing with the subject of French P-40s and P-47s?

Thank you

Re: GC II/5 'Lafayette'

GC II/5 converted to P-47 in April 1944, Rozanoff left the unit in May 1943.

For more data see the website http://perso.wanadoo.fr/frenchaces/m+gc.html

It's French but should be understandable.

Click on "Unités" on the top, then click on "GC 2/5 Lafayette" on the right menu (the middle menu is for 39-40 units, the right one for 42-45 units).

Is there any book on French Warhawks and/or Thunderbolts, a pilot's memoirs perhaps (in english)?

As a French, I enjoy having several books about this subject in my native language and have no idea of what is available in English, I'm afraid..
