Re: Russian loss list
Only in TsAMO. BTW, if you are talking about fighter divisions, then 2 GIAD and 11 GIAD never entered 16 VA...

Re: Russian loss list
2 GIAD was a PVO division. It was never part of any air army during GPW, exept on august-september 1942 when it was operationally assigned to 8 VA.
11 GIAD was organically assigned to 17 VA. In the middle of 1944 it appeared in STAVKA reserve, and from January 1, 1945 in the 2 VA. |

Re: Russian loss list
Hi Ironrat
2, 11 гв. шад = 2 GvShAD, 11 GvShAD иад = IAD As of 01Jan45 11 GvIAD was subordinate to 2 VA as NBE1942 says and is shown in the link you provided. Regards Andy Fletcher Last edited by Andy Fletcher; 27th May 2006 at 01:44. |

Re: Russian loss list
Gentlemen,
Here's what I have from two Russian hard copy sources: Source 1: Boevoi Sostav Sovetskii Armii, Chast V 1945 Source 2: Deictvuyuschaya Armiya 2nd Guards Stalingrad Order of Suvorov Fighter Aviation Division PVO was assigned to 12th PVO Corps of the Southwestern PVO Front on 1 January 1945 with the following Regiments: 38th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment 83rd Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment 84th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment 822nd Fighter Aviation Regiment 933rd Fighter Aviation Regiment It was in the Operational Army and providing Air Defense coverage over the 2nd Ukrainian Front 11th Guards Dnepropetrovsk Red Banner Order of Bogdan Khmel'nitskii Fighter Avisation Division was assigned to the 2nd Air Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front. Since it was assigned directly to the Air Army HQ, it was probably probably providing tactical air defense coverage of the Front. Although not confirmed, it had the following units: 5th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment 106th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment 107th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment regards, konev |
