BF 109 Experts Opinion Required
In Edwest,s Photos + 7-19 is the following picture
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA%3AIT&rd=1 In my copy of Axis Aircraft of World War II (David Mondey) on page 171 is an illustration of BF 109G-2/Trop of II/JG 51 at Casa Zeppera, Sardinia, summer 1943. Not being an expert but these seem to be the same plane. Photo was taken 1944 and the location is just accross the road from Sardinia. Any comments ?. |

Re: BF 109 Experts Opinion Required
It's rather a G-4 subtype. There is no a FuG VIIa ceramic antenna isolator over the 5th fuselage frame but a hole, for a FuG 16 antenna wire in the 7'th.

Re: BF 109 Experts Opinion Required
Hi,
this is not from II/JG51. The second group bar should be placed in the front of fuselage number (under canopy). I think this II/JG53 plane but I`m not 100% sure. Robert |
